DIY YURT - PAINT & ASSEMBLY GUIDE

This is a quick guide to help you understand what's involved in our DIY Yurt package. Our DIY yurt package gives you the chance to be truly hands on with your yurt and really get a feel for how it goes together and functions. It's not something for everyone, but if you have the time to invest it can be a really rewarding experience - and not just in terms of money saved. 

                                                                     Fabric Layers
All fabric layers on your yurt come complete and ready for use. Individual layers will only require unpacking prior to installation on your yurt

 

Wooden Structure - Yurt Frame


Wall sections: 4 -6 pieces depending on yurt size

Come pre-treated with a natural oil based wood preservative and require no additional work prior to first use.

Roof poles: 54 - 78 depending on yurt size

Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble a small horsehair rope with need to be threaded into the end of each roof pole and tied off. 

Crown Wheel: 1 piece

Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble you will need to screw in four O rings around edge of crown wheel

Crown Wheel Supports: 2 pieces

Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. No assembly required for this item. 

Door & Frame: 1 piece

Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble you will need to install seven O rings in the door frame, screw hinges onto door and hang door in it's frame,. Wooden beading re-install around pre-cut Lexan windows to hold in place.  

Except for paint we provide all materials to complete your yurt woodwork. A booklet will be provided with your yurt to guide you through the whole process.
